OK, here is what worked for me. Turn on the plugin. Put < <?php getPostTimes(); ?> at the very top of the index page and put <img src="/wordpress/wp-images/blogtimes.png" alt="Blogtimes image" /> where I wanted it to show (at the bottom of the page just above posts_nav_link). That was it.
